SOMERSET Council's highways team will be closing a major road this month to fix some drainage issues.
The A3088 Cartgate Link Road will be closed between the A303/A3088 roundabout to the roundabout that connects the A3088 with Bunford Lane.
The work will start on Monday, July 10, and is expected to finish on Saturday, July 15. In order to minimise disruption, the road will only be closed between 7pm and 7am each night.
This is to allow the drainage systems to be cleansed.
The team did try to clean the drainage system during the previous road closure, where they carried out ash die back tree clearance, but this was not possible at the time.
A Somerset Council spokesperson said: “This drainage improvement work is very important for the long-term health of the road, and for the safety of road users in the area.
“The planned evening closures are to minimise disruption for everyone; however, we give our thanks for your patience if you experience any short-term delays.”
