A YOUNG motorist caught speeding at 69mph in a 30mph stretch of road near Taunton has been banned from driving for four weeks.
Oscar Jay Webb, 20, of Ashcroft, Chard, was clocked at well over twice the speed limit on the A358 at Henlade, near Junction 25 of the M5, on May 30 last year.
Thousands of motorists have been fined for going too fast on the same road in recent years.
Webb pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared at Taunton Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, May 31.
He was fined £276 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £90 costs.
On top of his £400 court bill, Webb received a 28-day driving ban.
