BUTCOMBE Brewing Co has been named as the sole beer supplier for this year’s Shindig Festival.

Held at Dillington Estate, Ilminster, from May 25 to 28, Shindig Festival goers, or ‘Shindiggers’ as they are affectionately known, will be able to enjoy Butcombe Original, Butcombe Gold, Underfall Lager, Bohemia Craft Lager, Tall Tales Pale Ale, Stateside Session IPA and Goram IPA Zero.

Bruce Rowland, Marketing Director, Liberation Group (owners of Butcombe Brewing Co) says: “We’re incredibly excited to be the sole supplier of beer at this year’s Shindig Festival. Now in its ninth year, Shindig is a great fit for us.

"The festival is fresh, exciting, fun, and innovative which is very much what Butcombe is all about.

“We’re looking forward to meeting the Shindiggers, keeping them refreshed with our award-winning beers, and making sure the party is one to remember.”

Shindig has a reputation for combining old-skool royalty with festival mainstays, and rising stars. This year’s headliners include dance-pop legend, Sister Sledge featuring Kathy Sledge, and satirical news reporter (and comedy genius), Jonathan Pie.

Other main acts include London post-punk band, Warmduscher; the original queen of reggae music who is best known for No, No No, Dawn Penn; London-based artist, producer, remixer, DJ, and founder of Phantasy, Erol Alkan; top dog in the bass heavy-atmosphere of Britain's reggae dancehalls and BBC regular, David Rodigan; one of the most celebrated and accomplished DJs in Britain, Norman Jay MBE; and BBC 6 music’s, Huey Morgan.

Shindig prides itself on having no main stage, just a beautiful arrangement of stretch marquees. Si Clarke, Co-founder of Shindig Festival says: “It’s great to have Butcombe Brewing Co on board at this year’s Shindig Festival.

“We share many core values which are really important and like us, they’re passionate about what they do.

“We pride ourselves on putting a line-up together that has broad appeal - from Funk to Punk, Dancehall to Drum & Bass, Hip Hop & House, as well as huge headline Live Acts and a DJ roster of old and new favorites that span pioneers, legends, and luminaries.

“Sourcing the best local food and drink to keep our Shindiggers fed and watered is just as important.

“We were looking to work with a local supplier who had a track record of offering a great range of excellent beers and Butcombe fit the bill perfectly. We hope it’s the start of a long partnership.”

Families are well catered for at Shindig, with every adult ticket bought kids under the age of 12 go free.

There is lots of free entertainment in ‘Kids’ Kingdom’ with its own cinema showing family-friendly movies, drumming, breakdancing, graffiti, DJ’ing, and MC’ing workshops; and not forgetting inflatables sessions, a puppet show, giant marble run, and loads more.
