THE Devon and Somerset Community Awards are back for 2023.
After seeing success last year, the event, which is aimed at recognising local heroes in our communities, is returning. Founder Callum Philip is urging people to put forward their nominations now in preparation for the ceremony in August.
There are six different award categories, including:
- Outstanding bravery.
- Community hero.
- Emergency service of the year.
- Teacher of the year.
- Special recognition.
- Community fundraiser.
In the 2022 event, there were 7 winners and 7 runners up. All 14 were invited to an award ceremony in East Budleigh, which also had a free bar and buffet.
The event is made up by donations from local companies. The organisers are currently on the lookout for sponsors who could help make this year's awards bigger and better than ever.
