THE Somerset Tourism Showcase is set to bring together many of the county’s fantastic attractions with a free event.
It will take place at Westlands Entertainment Venue in Yeovil on Tuesday, March 28 2023, from 10am to 12pm.
More than 35 tourism-focused businesses are taking part in this free event which provides a great forum for those in the industry to connect with other Somerset-based tourism and hospitality colleagues and to collect and share promotional material for the new season ahead.
All businesses with an interest in attracting visitors, including pubs, cafes, restaurants, attractions, and accommodations providers are welcome to attend.
Attractions from across Somerset will include Fleet Air Arm Museum, Ferne Animal Sanctuary, and Muchelney Pottery.
The Somerset and Dorset National Garden Scheme will be attending with their popular Yellow NGS Books plus representatives from market towns with local walking guides.
There will also be a representative from England’s Coast Path offering a great selection of walks from the Somerset area.
Event organisers, Somerscience and Bare West will be there to explain how to get involved and benefit from these great events.
Visit South Somerset will be on hand to share the region’s new season guides, including Things to Do, Dog-friendly Days Out and Accessibility.
As well as to help promote the fantastic River Parrett Trail and The South Somerset 80-mile Cycleway.
Both activities offer superb ways to explore the area and opportunities to attract visitors and can be experienced in one go or in shorter sections.
Industry professionals will also be on hand to offer valuable free advice and support on website design and social media campaigns or leaflet distribution.
Heart of the South West Growth hub will have details about all their amazing support packages for businesses – mostly free. The Yeovil Chamber will be promoting the new Hospitality Hub and the benefits of being a member.
Councillor John Clark, portfolio holder for Economic Development for South Somerset District Council said: “This event is a great way to start the season. More than 35 attractions and businesses have signed up for the showcase and it is always a great atmosphere where like-minded businesses get together in one place.
"We are delighted that one of our key South Somerset attractions is hosting us and it’s a really valuable opportunity to network and exchange details about our fabulous county.”
