GREAT Western Railway has confirmed that there will be no train service running through Taunton station on Saturday, August 13 due to more rail strikes.
Industrial action by the RMT, Aslef and the TSSA unions will severely affect trains across the entire GWR network this weekend and next week.
The action is planned for Saturday August 13, Thursday August 18 and Saturday August 20, with days immediately after the strike days also affected.
GWR has said it will operate as many trains as possible during the strike action, however on Saturday, the only services that will run are Bristol Temple Meads-London Paddington, Reading to Oxford and Reading to Basingstoke.
Meaning there is no train service on GWR through Taunton on the day.
On Sunday August 14, GWR has said trains will continue to be severely disrupted, especially on long-distance intercity routes.
Next week, on Thursday August 18, a significantly limited service will operate once again.
No rail services will operate on all lines in Cornwall, including all branch lines, and the Berks & Hants line (Reading–Taunton via Castle Cary).
This is the same on Saturday August 20.
Customers who have already purchased tickets for strike days can claim a full refund or amend their ticket; those who travel and are delayed may be entitled to delay repay compensation if they are delayed by 15 minutes or more.
