A FARM has sold at auction for £200,000 above the guide price.
Wooden Top Farm, with more than 36 acres and several large barns at West Coker, sold for £601,000 when it went under the auctioneer’s gavel.
It had been listed with a freehold guide of £400,000 plus in the fourth auction of 2022 by the regional land and property auctioneers Clive Emson.
Located on West Coker Hill, the former rare breeds farm includes pastureland and farmyards over 36.65 acres (14.83 hectares).
Senior auction appraiser Audrey Smith said: “Bidders clearly saw the value of this land close to the town of Yeovil in South Somerset.
“The new owner may wish to continue with some form of agricultural business, use it for storage or even have some type of conversion project in mind subject to the necessary consents.”
Receivers instructed the sale of the farm.
