A SOMERSET man found dead in Thailand is believed to have been murdered.
Police say they think Marcus Evans, 49, from Berrow, near Burnham-on-Sea, was the victim of an assault involving a sickle.
Mr Evans was killed in the early hours of Saturday (January 22) in Kanchanaburi Province.
A second British man is said to have been taken to hospital following the incident.
Police in Thailand reported discovering a sickle knife.
They say they have arrested a 22-year-old man.
A Foreign Office spokesperon said: "We are contact with the Royal Thai Police following the death of one British man and the hospitalisation of another in Thailand and are ready to provide consular support."
