A MAIN road in Yeovil is set to close for a month while 'vital repairs' take place.
The work, on Coombe Street Lane, starts on Monday (January 24) and is expected to be complete by Friday, February 25.
The road will be completely closed during these dates, while Somerset County Council's (SCC) highways team carry out the repairs.
A diversion will be in place and access will be maintained for residents.
Councillor John Woodman, SCC's cabinet member for transport, said: “There is never a convenient time for schemes like these, we know this is a busy route, but these are priority repair works which will involve drainage improvements and complete resurfacing which will make a real difference for road users.
“Our team has done its best to schedule the work as soon as possible, with the final week falling within half term during a quieter period, and they will be doing everything they can to minimise disruption for residents and road users throughout.”

SCC looks after 4,172 miles of road and in 2020/21 invested £23.1m.
Highways teams filled 19,282 potholes last year and carried out 556 highway maintenance schemes ranging from drainage works to carriageway and footway resurfacing.
