A SMALL child was freed from a vehicle involved in in crash on a busy Somerset Road.
The incident happened at around 6.20pm last night on the A303 between South Petherton and Cartgate, and fire crews from Yeovil, Crewkerne and Ilminster were sent to the scene.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "On arrival at the scene, crew confirmed a single vehicle road traffic incident with one adult casualty trapped and one small child already released.
"Casualty care in progress for the child."
Soon after, they added: "Crew are making steady progress using two sets of hydraulic cutting equipment."
It was later confirmed the incident was a single-vehicle crash, with one child rescued prior to the arrival of crew and one adult released by the fire service using three sets of road traffic collision equipment, small tools and lighting.
