A FARMER called the fire brigade when the baler they were using caught fir ein the middle of a field.
Two fire crews - from Taunton and Ilminster - were sent to the scene, at Curland, between Taunton and Ilminster, at just after 2.35pm.
A spokesperson for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "Once on scene, crews confirmed the baler and a large area of dry grass was well alight.
"Crews worked well to bring the fire under control, using two hose reel jets and breathing apparatus.
"The fire was prevented from spreading any further and once extinguished, and the vehicle made safe, duty of care was left with the farmer."
