SMOKE was billowing from the roof of a property in West Coker last night (September 16).
Crews from Yeovil and Ilminster attended the fire around 9pm.
On arrival, they discovered a fire on the ground floor in the kitchen of the property, which also involved two gas cylinders.
The cause of the blaze was accidental.
"Two breathing apparatus wearers with one hose reel jet was sent into the property to investigate and prevent escalation of the incident," said a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
"The cylinders were cooled with ground monitors and then removed from the building.
"Crews damped down the fire with hose reels and ventilated with positive pressure ventilation.
"A total of six breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets and three thermal imaging cameras were used.
"The kitchen of the property was severely damaged in the fire."
