TWO homes could be built on land near a Somerset nature reserve.
Development land specialists Greenslade Taylor Hunt (GTH) are marketing the plot, off Brickyard Lane in Crewkerne, which is adjacent to the Bincombe Beeches site.
Around 30 species of birds including woodpeckers, goldcrest and jackdaws can be spotted from the reserve, which has a picnic area and nature trail.
GTH submitted a pre-application inquiry in December 2020, to South Somerset District Council for the erection of two homes on the adjacent land.
The council confirmed in March 2021 that the site is a sustainable location and suitable for development.
A planning application has not been submitted for the site.
However, the firm says this is an opportunity to seek detailed planning permission and develop the site.
"The land extends in total to 0.98 acres (0.40 hectares)," said a GTH spokesperson.
"It has a mix of trees and other vegetation. It is bounded to the North and West by Brickyard Lane, with existing housing beyond and to the East and South by the nature reserve."
Unconditional offers in the region of £70,000 are invited for the land and must be received by noon on Friday, October 8, 2021.
