A CAR fire in the early hours of this morning is thought to have been started deliberately.
Fire control received several calls about a vehicle "well alight" at Crofton Park, Yeovil, at 3.50am.

A spokesperson from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "On arrival the incident commander confirmed that there was one small car well alight outside a property in close proximity to other vehicles and got to work to extinguish the fire.
"Crews used one breathing apparatus, and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire which left the vehicle with approximately 45 percent fire damage."
Crews requested the police also attend the incident as they believed the fire to be caused deliberately.
It took fire fighters around 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze before checking the car thoroughly for hotspots.
The incident has now been left in the hands of the police.
