AN insurance company has made a sizeable donation to St Margaret's Hospice Care after the charity's fundraising efforts were impacted by the pandemic.
Staff at the Ilminster agency of NFU Mutual nominated the hospice to receive £6,400 from its £2million war chest to support frontline charities during the crisis.
The cash will help St Margaret’s continue to provide a high level of care to patients at a time when virtually all of its usual fund-raising activities have dried up.
Adam Clifton, partner and agent of NFU Mutual Ilminster, said: “Covid-19 continues to have a huge impact on everybody, including our customers and their local communities.
"St Margaret’s Hospice Care has been making a wonderful difference to our community during these challenging times, and we feel extremely proud to hear how our support has made an impact."
Samantha Mahon, trust and major gift assistant at St Margaret’s, said: "It really makes a huge difference in the lives of our patients and we are so thankful when people like NFU Mutual want to support us.”
