THEY'VE been a blight on our streets and have even found their way into our oceans, but now you can recycle your used face masks at Morrisons.
The supermarket - which has stores in Taunton, Bridgwater, Minehead, Glastonbury, Wells, Yeovil and Wincanton - has teamed up with The Sun to run a campaign to bring single-use face mask recycling to the masses.
The masks will be recycled into sustainable building materials, children's furniture, planters and even PPE collection bins.
The service is available near the entrance in Morrisons stores.
The move comes after researchers predicted there are likely to be more disposable masks in our oceans than jellyfish.
The campaign aims to encourage people to take action against PPE waste, preventing plastic single-use masks from damaging already fragile ecosystems and from polluting waterways.
Recyclers ReWorked will process the hard-to-recycle waste, using innovative practices for plastics usually considered non-recyclable.
They recycle waste and reintroduce it into the supply chain as new products.
