CREWS from three fire stations battled a fire in a stable block last night (Wednesday).
An engine was sent to report of a "fire in the open" at Pulpitsway Drove, Kingsbury Episcopi, near Martock, shortly after 10pm.
It was initially unknown what was on fire, bit a crew from Marotck reported "a large volume of smoke in the area" as they approached the scene.
Additional sources, including tow further fire engines and a water bowser were sent from Yeovil and Somerton.
The fire involved a 50 square metre wooden stable block.
Once the fire was out, the incident was handed over to the property owner and the police.
