UPDATE: All lanes re-opened today (May 24) around 3pm.
THE A303 is closed between Cartgate and Ilchester after a crash which resulted in an overturned lorry.
Highways England and Avon and Somerset Police are at the scene between Prophet's Lane and the A3088.
The crash happened around 8am this morning (May 24).
Avon and Somerset Police currently have the traffic held in order to recover a vehicle.

According to Travel Somerset, this is causing a build up of traffic.

Highways England have offered an alternative route for those who need to travel.
"Road users wishing to continue their journey are advised to follow the black, solid circle diversion symbol," a spokesperson for Highways England said.
"Exit the A303 at Cartgate Roundabout. Travel along the A3088 towards Yeovil until the Horsey Roundabout with the A30. Continue on the A30 until the exit for the A37 (Hospital Roundabout).
"Travel along the A37 (signposted for Bristol) to continue their journey on the A303."
