A PERSON was taken to hospital via air ambulance after a crash in Yeovil yesterday afternoon (May 6).
Two fire engines from Yeovil and Sherbourne attended the incident in Mudford at around 2.30pm.
Crews were told this was a vehicle fire, but on arrival they realised it was a road traffic collision with someone still trapped inside.
And so a heavy rescue tender from Yeovil attended to help release the casualty.
"At around 4.30pm crews confirmed the extrication of the casualty was now complete and they were being conveyed to hospital via air ambulance," said a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue.
"To achieve the extrication crews used small tools.
"The incident has now been handed over to the police."
