FIREFIGHTERS freed a man trapped in a vehicle following a road traffic collision.
The fire and rescue service was alerted to the incident at Hinton Hill, Crewkerne, at 2.52am this morning (Monday, April 19).
Fire engines from Crewkerne and Yeovil and the heavy rescue vehicle from Yeovil attended.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Crews arrived on scene and got to work stabilising the vehicle using stabjacks, and using hydraulic cutting equipment to rescue the casualty.
"One male casualty was trapped by the ankles, and crews managed to free the casualty who was taken into the care of paramedics.
"Police also attended. Crews made the vehicle safe and duty of care was left with police."
