POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a crash between a car and a van in Ilminster.

A white panel van ended up in a ditch and the driver in a Vauxhall Zafira left the scene.

The collision happened on the A303 at Southfields Roundabout on February 7 at around 11.35am.

The driver of the van was uninjured.

"The Zafira driver was described as a man of muscular build with a number of tattoos," said an Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson.

"He wore a black T-shirt, black jogging bottoms and black trainers.

"Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 101 quoting log number 375 of 7 February."
