TWO recycling centres in Somerset are closed today (January 30) after positive coronavirus tests.
The Chard and Yeovil sites are currently being deep cleaned are expected to re-open tomorrow (Janaury 31).
The two staff who tested positive for Covid-19 are isolating, and once the sites re-open they will be staffed by colleagues from other recycling centres.
The news was announced on South Somerset District Council's (SSDC) Facebook page.
A spokesperson for SSDC said: "Remember, sites are open for essential visits only at present – when waste cannot be taken from the kerbside and poses a health or fire risk if stored at home - and there are a range of measures are in place at all sites for the protection of staff and public."
