A HOUSE was badly smoke damaged after a fire in Yeovil. Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called to Lake Mews at 1.56pm yesterday (January 4) to reports of a house fire.
Three fire engines from Yeovil went to the scene alongside an officer.
When they arrived at the scene the firefighters confirmed that smoke was coming from the roof of the property.
Crews used breathing apparatus and positive pressure ventilation to extinguish the fire.
The fire was located on the first floor and resulted in 50 per cent smoke damage to the whole property.
"The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental," a Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue spokesperson said.
