FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a fire at a property in Chard.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call from a member of the public at 12.25pm today who was reporting a fire at her neighbours property at Henson Park, Chard.
Three fire appliances from Chard, Ilminster and Crewkerne were sent to the scene by fire control.
On arrival, the Incident Commander confirmed that there was smoke coming from a 3rd floor flat.
Crews quickly got to work to gain access to the flat using a 13.5m ladder, breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera and a covering jet.
Once inside the property, firefighters confirmed that the fire was contained to a hob in the kitchen.
After the fire had been extinguished crews used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the property.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "The cause of the fire was deemed to been accidental."
