A SCHOOL community has come together to mark the return to the church family.
Winsham Primary School joined The Redstart Learning Partnership (Trust) last year with the intention that the school would convert back to its church school status.
The process was completed on September 1, 2020.
Lindsay Gabriel, head of school, said: “It was a fabulous morning. The children participated in the planning and preparation including making their own church themed bunting and decorating the playground.
“They also enjoyed the celebration of making a new friendship and sharing the occasion with their families.”
The Rev Phillip Butcher and the Archdeacon Simon welcomed the school back into the church family with a warm and friendly service.
Staff and pupils celebrated this special occasion by inviting families, community members, and senior leaders from the Trust and others who have been involved with or have supported the school.
Careful considerations were taken by the school to ensure the event was socially distanced and everyone felt safe.
The service took place in the school playground, decorated with homemade bunting and balloons.
The school are now looking forward to a visit in February from Bishop Ruth who will present the school with a formal plaque.
