A VILLAGE shop and cafe celebrated a landmark anniversary last week.
July 14 marked 10 years since the opening of the Seavington Community Shop and Cafe, in Water Street, Seavington St Mary.
The opening in 2010 was the result of much hard work and fundraising by villagers and a decade on, the venue is still going strong.
The shop has seen many changes over the years, including the appointment of a chef, with many new products tried.
Despite the coronavirus crisis, staff say the store has still operated, and celebrated the milestone with decorations outside the shop and had a Grand Birthday Draw.
Chair of the management committee, Ian Gibson, said: "We owe a huge debt to the original team of volunteers who offered their skills and learnt new ones to build a team with the commitment and ability to run a business.
"We can enter the next decade with confidence and optimism."
The shop is open from Monday to Saturday, between 8.30am and 2.30pm. Visit www,theseavingtons.org/community/village-store-and-cafe.
