CHARD ready meals maker Oscar Mayer tasted success last week in an awards scheme by supermarket chain Sainsbury's.
Oscar Mayer, which makes a million meals a week for Sainsbury's, was named healthy supplier of the year at the supermarket's London HQ last Monday.
Suppliers were judged on their overall approach to healthy food and the impact of their work on ethical trading, recycling and reducing waste.
James Ford, of Oscar Mayer, said: "The company is delighted.
"Our success is a fantastic reflection of how two companies with a common passion can work together to create a fantastic product, and within a short time gain excellent results."
Oscar Mayer received a specially created trophy made from 100% recycled glass and reclaimed 100-year-old red cedar.
Eight other suppliers also received awards at the ceremony in Holborn, which will now become an annual event.
