POLICE are appealing for information following an unprovoked racially motivated assault in Chard.
The incident happened a week ago on Saturday, June 23, when the 18-year-old victim, who is black, was walking with his two white friends in Jocelyn Park.
He was approached by a white man who firstly shouted abuse at him before punching him in the face causing swelling and bruising to the eye.
The offender, who was with two other white men who were not involved, was described as being aged between 19 and 20, about 6ft tall with short blonde hair.
He was wearing a short sleeve T-shirt with Lonsdale in dark blue writing across the front. He was wearing blue jeans and white trainers.
