SENTENCING for a woman who stole thousands of pounds of taxpayers' money from two parish councils was delayed today (Thursday, June 28).
Victoria Waldron was due before South Somerset Magistrates in Yeovil, having admitted earlier this month to stealing £1,687.50 from Merriott and £1,217.45 from Barwick and Stoford parish councils while clerk to both.
But pre-sentencing reports were not available and Waldron, 38, of Jasmine Close, Yeovil, was bailed to reappear at the same court on July 12.
At a hearing on June 4, Waldron admitted six counts of theft over a three-year period, which involved falsifying cheques. She also asked for ten further offences to be taken into consideration.
