The June meeting was held, by kind invitation, at the home of Rosemary and Bert Parsons. Despite the inclement weather some members were able to enjoy a conducted tour of their beautiful garden.
Elizabeth Harris opened the meeting with a service and readings on the theme of Gardens and Countryside. Jean Berry played for the hymns and Rosemary Parsons read a poem of her choice. Lydia Munday reported on the work done by the Mothers' Union in Myanmar (Burma).
The meeting concluded with an excellent tea provided by the members and included the annual treat of strawberries and cream.
Next month's meeting will be on Wednesday, July 18, when the subject will be a fresh look at Reading the Bible. Donyatt and Horton will be the tea hostesses. The Holy Communion Service will be on Wednesday, July 11, at 9.30am at St Peter's Church.
