CAMERA crews from BBC's Cash in the Attic are filming an episode in Chard today (Wednesday, June 20).

They have been visiting a horse-breeding family hoping to raise enough money to take one of their animals to a stud farm.

Presenter Jenny Bond arrived at Forde Abbey at 8.30am to film a piece to camera before heading to Chard to meet the family, together with guest antiques expert John Cameron.

The daytime show sees families rustle through bric-a-brac in their homes - hoping to find rare gems which could net them a fortune at auction.

Crews will be with the family, who declined to comment to the News, well into this evening.

Next Wednesday, they will head to S.J Hales Auctioneers in Newton Abbot to see how much their items are worth. The programme is likely to air in two months' time.

A spokesman for the show told the News: "I think the day went well. The family managed to find some nice, saleable items and they are looking forward to the auction."

Cash in the Attic is looking for more families in the Chard and Ilminster area to take part in the series. To find out how, call the team on 02077-045353, e-mail cashintheattic@leopardfilms.com or click on the link below for an online application form.
