A CHARD business came to the rescue for party loving youngsters last week, stepping in to save the day for Redstart Primary School's disco.

The Bakers Dozen bakery jumped into action preparing 250 bread rolls for youngsters on Wednesday with less than a days notice.

The disco was organised by the Friends of Redstart School.

Chairman Joan Pedlar said: "The day before the event the supplier for the bread rolls warned that they had failed to process the order and would be unable to provide the bread for the hotdogs.

"We contacted the Bakers Dozen, just before they closed on Tuesday night and owner Graham Barnes stepped in to help out.

"He arranged for his baker to arrive an hour early for work the next day and he even gave the school a discount."

She added: "The Friends of Redstart School are extremely grateful to the local business for their support."
