PEOPLE in Chard, Ilminster and Crewkerne are about to receive a stats-packed leaflet giving a verdict on the performance of their local police.
The Avon and Somerset Police Authority has produced its annual police summary together with the region's constabulary and will drop it through 700,000 doors between now and the end of July.
The document contains details of police performance and targets force-wide and locally, and explains challenges and targets for the coming year.
The summary for Somerset East, which includes Chard, Ilminster and Crewkerne, reveals that although the force has exceeded its targeted reduction of robberies and vehicle thefts, there has been a worrying 8.1% rise in thefts from vehicles.
Homes in rural Somerset will be among the first to receive the summary, which is also available online and in video format, in several languages, by clicking on the link below.
