POLICE yesterday (Monday) arrested a 57-year-old woman from Chard on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
Officers launched a pursuit after several members of the public reported a silver Vauxhall Corsa driving erratically on the M5 northbound, near Weston-super-Mare, at 10.15am.
The vehicle was stopped at junction 16, where a Field Impairment Test (FIT Test) was carried out.
The same vehicle is believed to have been involved in a collision at Sedgemoor Services shortly beforehand, where a sign was damaged.
The woman was taken into custody at Weston-super-Mare Police Station and has been bailed to return next month.
