CHILDREN and parents at Chard's Avishayes Primary School helped raise money for the community swimming pool yesterday (Tuesday) by bagging up their old clothes for developing countries.
A van full of clothes, bags, shoes and bedding was taken from the school to be dispensed throughout developing countries to help people start their own businesses.
Organiser and swimming pool manager Debbie Harvey said children and parents at the school had helped by clubbing together for the cause.
She said: "Everyone's been really great.
"We do this about twice a year - last time we raised around £100 and will probably do the same this time too "Clothes are taken to Taunton and sorted and we get money for the swimming pool from what we have collected."
