CRIME fighters, lifesavers and have-a-go-heroes will be honoured in a special awards ceremony tomorrow (Tuesday).
The event at Avon and Somerset Constabulary headquarters will showcase stories of people who risked their lives to save others and those who have improved their local community.
They will include a teenage girl who rescued her friend from a road collision by performing first aid, and a Husband and Wife team who prevented a burglar from fleeing their home and helped bring him to justice for 71 offences relating to burglary and theft.
Ch Cons Colin Port will attend the event to present the awards.
He said: "The presentation acknowledges the support from members of the community who have gone out of their way to help us in our efforts to reduce crime and bring offenders to justice.
"It also provides an opportunity to highlight the good work of police officers who have dealt with potentially high risk incidents or have put their lives on the line to save others.
"The awards presentation is a special day to recognise all of the lifesavers, crime fighters and have-a-go heroes who thoroughly deserve praise for their bravery, quick-thinking and sheer determination."
