THE trial of a Chard man accused of smuggling more than four million cigarettes into Britain has been delayed until August.
Steven Allen, aged 42, of Hornsbury Hill, was due to appear at Plymouth Combined Court on Wednesday, June 6, but the hearing was adjourned at the request of the prosecution.
A trial has now been fixed for August 2.
Mr Allen was arrested on August 1 last year after 4,160,000 Palace brand cigarettes were found in the back of a lorry at Plymouth Ferryport.
