SOMERSET Council is seeking volunteers to help inspire a new generation of wildlife enthusiasts at Chard Reservoir, Ham Hill and Yeovil Country Park.
The local authority wants people to step forward as engagement volunteers at the three sites to encourage people's passion for nature.
The disused reservoir is often used as a green space for activities, such as guided nature walks and the upcoming Autumnfest (October 29).
Ham Hill, near Stoke-sub-Hamdon, offers opportunities for scenic dog walks, walking, running, playing and wildlife watching.
A council spokesperson said: "If you’d like to help deliver events and sessions and get people excited about nature, we want to hear from you!
"You will be working alongside the rangers to assist with a range of fun activities, including fire lighting, den building, craft sessions, nature walks, minibeast hunting and heritage activities; for toddlers groups through to adults.
"At Chard Reservoir, we'll be having a volunteer training day on September 30, going through the dos and don'ts of being an engagement volunteer, as well as making tiny boats, cooking over the campfire, and generally bonding with our beautiful site.
"If you'd like to come along, or can't attend but would still like to join the community ranger team, then please email Edd, our community ranger, who'll take you through the steps you'll need to take to join the team.
"You must let us know if you plan on attending. Contact: edward.chilcott@somerset.gov.uk."
