A NEW drive-thru restaurant could be built on a Somerset site.
A planning application has been submitted for land at Long Close, Wincanton, to develop the eatery, as well as a number of retail units, car parking and landscaping.
No details of any proposed tenants for the restaurant are detailed in the plan.
There is currently a KFC restaurant near the site.
In the application to South Somerset District Council, Hopkins Estates says: "The proposal is to erect a stand-alone restaurant with a drive-thru lane, and a range of new retail units, new site access and loop access road, 18 cycle and 39 parking spaces, and landscaping."
The new access road would be developed off the A371, where the site is found, and the specifics of the development are not detailed due to tenants not yet being confirmed.
The application adds: "The proposed tenant for the drive-thru restaurant is not available at this time, and the retail units are designed to be flexible to suit commercial lettings not known at this time."
