A FIRE engine from Somerset attended a vehicle fire on a main road in Devon yesterday morning (August 31).
The car, which caught fire on the A30 near Upottery, was completely destroyed by the fire.
One fire engine from Chard and one from Honiton attended the incident around 11.45am.
The fire is believed to have been accidental.
"Crews got to work using four breathing apparatus, one thermal imaging camera and two jets to tackle the fire," said a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue.
"Crews were working in partnership with highways to stem the diesel spill.
"The car has been 100% damaged by fire, this is believed to have been an accidental fire."
