FIREFIGHTERS rushed to tackle a chimney fire in Wambrook on Saturday evening.
Two fire engines from Chard attended the scene on Linnington Lane, Wambrook at 8.22pm after a fire was reported in a thatch property.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "Upon arrival crews confirmed the chimney fire where the thatch was not involved.
"They also reported light smoke logging in the property and set to work using chimney gear to extinguish the fire."
The firefighters had to remove a log burner to gain better access to the chimney and remove unburnt debris.
At 9.47pm the crews confirmed the fire had been extinguished using chimney gear, thermal imaging camera, a covering jet and working from the roof.
