A FIRE investigation is taking place this morning following a barn fire in Ilton, Ilminster last night (August 7).
Crews from Chard and Ilminster and a Water Bowser from Bridgwater attended the incident at Church Road after receiving several calls at 8.55pm.
An agricultural building measuring 30m by 10m and two bays of straw were well alight.
Crews got to work with two Hose Reel Jets and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.
At 11.52pm, the incident was scaled down to only one fire appliance and crews stayed on scene to maintain a watching brief.
At 3.19am this morning, crews were continuing to watch and damping down the surrounding area.
At 6.31am this morning, crews were still watching and damping down the surrounding areas.
